Yes, I think NSTP is very good for college students. It will help us adjust to the “real” world. For example, it will make us aware of what we have to know all about it. Unlike any other subject, this will teach us something new that we don’t learn from the books. NSTP is also designed to serve the country. Its policies and program will also enhance our opportunity to take on the challenge. It’s also a program designed to expose us, college students, to ever increasing technology advance. It’s also good for our personality. Lastly, as from the name itself, it will train to serve the nation.
Yes, NSTP will contribute better to my citizenship. Number one, because it will make me realize that we all have to care for our country. Because of this, it will also make us become good citizens for we are better aware of what is going on around us. With NSTP, we will know what actions to take in different situations. Of course, the
bottom line here is we will become helpful.
Sometimes, people will think that NSTP is just a waste of time, but the truth is, it will
actually do us good. One reason is, it will teach us lessons, be it in the classroom or in the field. For example, in the classroom we will have lectures all about it. In the field, we can help build houses from scratch. Like what we did in our sociology class, last February.
Yes, NSTP will enhance my leadership skills. This is for a lot of reasons. One, leadership means able to guide or lead in something. Therefore, every activity involves leadership. Two, if NSTP is designed to serve the country, then we will have to lead the people. For example, we can help the country by helping out in poor day care centers. There, we will be leaders to little children. We have to teach them. It will enhance our leadership in small things like this. I have lead in my school’s chapel hour before.
